ServICE, a conference organized by different schools each year to inspire, connect, and empower students to get out and make a difference in their communities. I participated in this event with several of my friends in both 2018 and 2019. The conference in 2018 was held in ASB while the conference in 2019 was held in ICS. ServICE was 3 days long in which there are different activities each day. There are icebreakers, how to sessions, keynote speeches, SPARK session, NGO sessions, and many more activities. One of the days we also went to a field trip or BYB trips. In 2018 I went to Paper Ranger to make notebooks for children and in 2019 I went to Construction of Hope where we helped create homes for children. Through these trips I learned different sets of skills, for example, making notebooks and building shelters. I met many new students from different schools over there and it was a great experience. We all worked together to make sure the children get their necessities and so we can give back to the community which made us extremely happy. We learned about different problems in the world, for example, poverty, global warming, discrimination, and more and how we can solve these problems. We got to know each other well and learned things we never knew before though presentations and keynotes. Overall, ServICE is a great conference to know other people and do different activities to give back to the community. If I ever had the chance, I would definitely go back there to make more memories and learn more about the conflicts in our world.
